C-Peptide ELISA kit provides materials for the quantitative determination of human C-peptide in human serum, plasma and urine. This C-Peptide ELISA kit assay is intended for in vitro diagnostic use only. The C-Peptide ELISA kit procedure is an enzyme immunoassay, which is based on the principle of competitive binding. The microtiter wells of the C-Peptide ELISA kit are coated with anti-mouse antibodies which binds a monoclonal antibody directed towards a unique antigenic site on the C-Peptide molecule. Endogenous C-Peptide of a patient sample competes with an C-Peptide horseradish peoxidase conjugate for binding to the coated antibody. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off with washing solution. The amount of bound peroxidase conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of C-Peptide in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of colour developed using the C-Peptide ELISA kit is reverse proportional to the concentration of C-Peptide in the patient sample.
The range of the C-Peptide ELISA kit assay is between 0 – 16 ng/ml. The cross-reactivity of intact or split-Proinsulin is clinically not significant when the C-Peptide ELISA kit is used. The analytical sensitivity of the C-Peptide ELISA kit was calculated from the mean minus two standard deviations of twenty (20) replicate analyses of Standard 0 and was found to be 0.064 ng/ml. C-Peptide ELISA kit when stored at 2° to 8°C unopened reagents will retain reactivity until expiration date. Do not use reagents beyond this date. Enzyme-Conjugate, Substrate Solution, Standards and Zero Standard must be stored at 2° to 8°C for the C-Peptide ELISA kit. Microtiter wells of the C-Peptide ELISA kit must be stored at 2° to 8°C. Once the foilbag has been opened, care should be taken to close it tightly again.
