ANGPT4 Human (Angiopoietin like 4) 

Synonyms:  ARP4, ANGPTL4, FIAF, PGAR, NL2, HFARP, ANGPTL2, Fasting- Induced Adipose Factor, PPARG Angiopoietin-Related Protein, pp1158, Angiopoietin-LIKE-4.

Background:

  • Gene is known to code for the Angiopoietin like 4 protein in humans. This gene has also be called a number of other names in the past which include; HFARP, FIAF, PGAR and ANGPTL2.
  • Also referred to as an adipo-cytokine because its levels are controlled by a state of fasting using either hypoxia or receptor agonists of peroxisome proliferators.
  • Both the truncated and the native form of ANGPTL4 are present in the blood plasma of mouse and humans.
  • The native form in humans is only detected in both the SGBS adipocytes and white adipose tissue, in contrast only the truncated ANGPTL4 is produced in mouse 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Specificity:  Homologous (100%) to a.a. sequence 26-229 of the Human ANGPTL4 precursor minus the signal sequence. 

Purification Method:  One-step using Ni-NTA chromatography.

Formulation:  Lyophilized and sterile filtered from 0.5 mg/ml in 0.05M Acetate buffer pH-4. 

Solubility:  Dissolve lyophilized pellet fully in 0.2 ml of 0.1M Acetate buffer pH-4.

Stability:  Store lyophilized at -20°C for long term storage and 4°C for short term. Please avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles.

Purity:  Above 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Application:  ELISA and Western blot analysis.
