Background: 

  • Is also referred to as an adipo-cytokine because its levels are controlled by a state of fasting using either hypoxia or receptor agonists of peroxisome proliferators.
  • Gene is known to code for the Angiopoietin like 4 protein in humans. This gene has also be called a number of other names in the past which include; HFARP, FIAF, PGAR and ANGPTL2.
  • The native form in humans is only detected in both the SGBS adipocytes and white adipose tissue, in contrast only the truncated ANGPTL4 is produced in mouse 3T3-L1 adipocytes.
  • Both the truncated and the native form of ANGPTL4 are present in the blood plasma of mouse and humans.

Solubility:  Dissolve lyophilized pellet fully to 0.5 mg/ml in pyrogen free water.
