Intended Use:
Human beta-2 Microglobulin ELISA to be used for the in vitro quantitative study of beta 2 Microglobulin (B2M) concentrations in serum, plasma and urine.

The calculated minimum level of detection was 0.2μg/mL.

Recovery: This has been estimated to be in the range of 94-105%.

1. Run- between (n=16): CV reading of 8.4% (average concentration of 0.536μg/mL).
2. Run- within (n=16): CV value of 7.43% (mean concentration of 0.526μg/mL).

This human B2M ELISA kit does not exhibit any cross reactivity with any other substances using human serum samples: PSA, CEA, human IgG, CRP and human serum albumin.

Hook Effect:
No hook effect was detectable.

International Calibration Standard:
Human ELISA beta-2 Microglobulin has been calibrated against NIBSC/WHO B2MG First International Standard (Case Number. 96/668).

Expected Normal Values:
B2MG normal value were determined using more than 70 plasma and serum which had been taken from normal blood donor patients. The Beta-2 Microglobulin concentration recorded was between the range of 0.267 to 1.278μg/mL. Urine samples were also tested and it was found to contain less than 0.2μg/mL. However, we would recommend that each laboratory determines its own normal range using its own individual population.
